Gold Pass vs. Basic Pass -- Brief Summary:
Gold
Pass Includes priority registration for and seating at most events
at The 2008 Screenwriting Expo,
including all seminars and networking
parties.
It includes access to exhibits, Guest of Honor
sessions, and virtually all panels and teaching sessions.
Does not include tickets to
the CS
Open
scene-writing tournament The
Golden Pitch script pitching festival or admission to
possible special events not listed.
(We are looking into special events which may cost
us extra
expense; we cannot predict at this time what those costs will be, so we
could not set a Gold Pass price to include them.)

Pass and Basic Pass benefits. Note: lunch is no longer included
with the Gold Pass,
saving both you and us money. There are now many lunch options at and around the
Convention Center which are far less expensive than a $25 catered lunch.
Basic
Pass Registration to The 2008 Screenwriting Expo includes access to the
trade show, most guests of honor, general conference sessions, and all
free panels and seminars. Early Registration is $94.95, $50 off the
regular rate, for a Four-Day Pass.
Some panels and events at The 2008 Screenwriting Expo will be
free with this type of registration; tickets for most seminars are on sale now for $5 each.
Additional fees apply for networking
parties, the CS
Open, The
Golden Pitch script pitching festival and possible special
events
not listed. Click here to add a Basic Pass to

– The Convention Center has a reasonably-priced (for L.A.) cafeteria right below the Expo. You can choose
from a variety of foods and eat economically for
under $12.
– L.A. Live,
a
restaurant and
entertainment complex next to the Convention Center, is expected to
have some of its 12 new restaurants open by Expo
time.
These restaurants range from fast food to fine
dining.
– There are
several restaurants in the neighborhood around
the
Convention Center, including the famous Pantry, which has never been
closed. We will provide maps and a lunch break long enough to
allow you to visit these restaurants
for lunch. We‘re looking into a lunch
shuttle.
Why we
are not providing catered lunches this year:
Catered lunches are expensive and they don't taste very good.
Last year, we charged registrants $19.95 per lunch for box
lunches. Seems like a lot? Actually with two taxes and
the service charge, these lunches cost us $29.70 each -- a
ridiculous price for a box lunch. But that is the
nature of catering. You'll
be
able to eat much better for
$10-$15/day on your own.
