Pre-Expo
Pitch Training And Practice
1. Pitch Boot Camp
This Event
Run By the Scriptwriters
Network Requires A Separate
$19.95 Registration Fee, Even For Gold Pass Holders
(A
Platinum Pass, if offered, may include Pitch Boot Camp)
ABOUT PITCH BOOT CAMP:
Pitch Boot Camp is a two-hour guided
session in
which you role-play both sides
of a script pitch table -- as the producer listening to pitches and
as
the writer giving your pitch. It's an opportunity to practice
pitching generally, or practice the particular pitch(es) you plan to
give at the Expo, and to gain some understanding of what it is like to
be on the other side of the table -- an extremely valuable
way to
learn pitching mistakes to avoid.
Pitch Boot Camp is run by the non-profit Scriptwriters Network in
cooperation with Creative Screenwriting and the Expo staff.
Registration Details: This Is Not A "Gold Pass" Event:
Three sessions of Pitch Boot Camp have
been scheduled; tickets are limited to 30 tickets per session.
Even
if you have a Gold Pass, you will need to sign up and pay the separate
Pitch Boot Camp fee to attend Pitch Boot Camp. Your ticket will be good
only for the particular Pitch Boot Camp session you registered
for. Cancellations will be accepted through Sept. 30, 2011,
and
you may swap tickets with anyone on site.
Missed session: If you miss
your sheduled
2011 Pitch Boot Camp session, your ticket does not guarantee you a seat
in a
later session, but it will be accepted in a later 2011 session if and
only
if there is room. No refunds are issued if you missed your session and
there is no room in a later session.

2.
Pitch Repair With Gary Shusett
Sherman Oaks Experimental College will hold a
special Thursday session which complements Pitch Boot Camp: founder
Gary Shusett, who is famous for being able to repair a pitch by hearing
it once, will give a special class Thursday, Sept. 15
(tentatively at 12:30 p.m. --check the schedule
for the final time). This
is a Sherman Oaks College session, not
an Expo session. It requires a separate admission, but the
admission fee is only $10.
